The Matrix

The 7×7 dot system behind every Spark mark — alphabet, icons and pattern from one set of rules.

The Matrix.

One grid. Infinite signal.

The dot is the smallest unit of the Spark visual system. It is not decorative, it is structural. Everything built within the matrix is made of dots, nothing else.

The Grid

The matrix is a 7×7 grid. Seven columns, seven rows. This gives enough resolution to build meaningful shapes and icons while keeping the system minimal and ownable.

Built to scale

The same grid that works at 4px on a mobile interface works at 4cm on a printed document and at 40cm on a wall. The matrix does not break at any size because it is not defined by a fixed measurement, it is defined by a proportion. Scale it up, scale it down. It is always Spark.

The Importance

The matrix is the most ownable element of Spark. It is immediately recognisable, endlessly flexible, and deeply connected to the brand's identity, a system built from a single, repeated truth.

Principles

01.

Constraint is the strategy.

A system with one rule is a system anyone can use. The 7×7 grid does not allow everything, and that is exactly what makes it powerful. Every designer, every vendor, every external team working with Spark operates within the same boundaries. No interpretation required. No room for deviation. The constraint is not a limitation. It is the source of the identity.

02.

On and off. The brand in its most reduced form.

The binary logic of the matrix, a dot that is either active or inactive, is not just a visual decision. It is an extension of what Spark is. Spark activates. Spark ignites. Spark takes something that exists and turns it on. The dot that lights up is the brand philosophy expressed in its most minimal, most direct form. There is nothing simpler. There is nothing more precise.

03.

A system that grows with the brand.

The 28 icons in this document are a starting point, not a ceiling. Any new concept Spark needs to communicate, any new service, any new market, any new idea, can be translated into the grid. The system does not need to be redesigned. It needs to be extended. That is the difference between a visual trend and a visual system.

04.

Ready for motion.

The on/off logic of the matrix is natively built for animation. Dots activating in sequence, shapes that build themselves, transitions that reveal meaning over time. When Spark moves into animated content, social, digital, web, events, the matrix moves with it without any translation required. The foundation is already there.
