Doto always dominates.
When Doto is in the frame, it is the largest element on the page. Not slightly larger, significantly larger. It is a statement font, not a body font, and it should always read that way. If Doto is not the dominant typographic element, it should not be there at all.
Helvetica supports Doto.
When a subtitle, a descriptor, or supporting copy appears alongside Doto, it is always set in Helvetica Now. Never Aglet Mono in that context. Helvetica is the voice that gives context to the statement. It is clean, readable, and precise, the perfect counterpart to the expressive weight of Doto.
Aglet Mono never competes.
Aglet Mono lives in the details. Labels, tags, technical references, navigation elements. Always uppercase when small. It brings precision and technical character to the system, but it never reaches for attention. If it starts to feel like a headline, it is being misused.
Helvetica is the only font with no size restriction.
Doto has a minimum, it is always large. Aglet Mono has a maximum, it is always small. Helvetica Now is the only typeface in the system that works at every size, from a 7pt caption to a 64pt headline. That flexibility is what makes it the backbone of the system.
